Period:
Some 30 years ago, Fáelán, Aislinn's father, a Celtic Irish fisherman was caught in a bizarre storm and was lost at sea. Some 20 years or so later a merchant ship arrived, onboard was the long lost Fáelán, his oriental wife and their daughter, Aislinn.

Aislinn tried to fit in with her father's people for years, she even married and had a daughter of her own (Delphine). But that marriage was short lived, for her husband soon got himself killed in a hunting accident, he was gored to death by the wild boar he was tracking.

Shortly after that, to get away from the gloom, Aislinn went on a trading expedition up North, as her father's emissary, taking with her the finest cloths and goods, her own knowledge of some crafts, her little daughter and a handful of her father's servants.

She wasn't so sure where she was headed, but the colder climate seemed to help, she was looking for solitude. She found Kaarnemaa as winter found her caravan, she decided to stay a while. She sent her father's servants home, knowing that Fáelán would have a fit when he finds out she wasn't coming home any time soon.

Anyway, Aislinn is a very able merchant in her own right, although she would rather say that she's her father's envoy. She knows a lot of things, among those things are Calligraphy, Illumination, Embroidery, Cooking, other handcrafts and Candle making.
